Katy Bicknell

Social Worker by trade, lifelong learner at heart, I view the therapeutic process as a dynamic art form. My heart and mind are dedicated to the therapeutic process and committed to my clients who come from various stages of life.

In the complex journey of healing from attachment and developmental trauma, I offer a compassionate space for clients to explore their experiences and emotions. With extensive training in humanistic approaches and psychodynamic “flare”, I integrate somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative therapy to facilitate profound personal growth. My work is particularly attuned to supporting parents navigating the challenges of NICU stays, and helping parents process and heal from birth trauma while fostering resilience.

Understanding the weight of secondary traumatic stress on healthcare and helping professionals, I provide tailored support to navigate the emotional toll of their vital work.

My ongoing education in neurobiological approaches to trauma treatments for complex PTSD enhances my ability to guide clients through their healing journey, ensuring they feel understood and empowered.

Together, we will explore the intricate connections between your past and present, fostering a path toward healing that honors your unique story and promotes lasting change. I believe that through understanding and connection, healing is not only possible but transformative.
